Having a lot of stuff or having a lot of stuff out of control does not mean someone is a hoarder. The greater percentage of people with too much stuff, do not meet the criteria of a clinical hoarder which, should relieve your concerns somewhat. The most important thing is to remain hopeful and supportive, show concern and be encouraging. There is still room for lots of hope in a clinical hoarder, too. Anyone can change and any time with the right kind of help; medical, emotional and physical.
